Garbolino Ossett fished a flooded river in Niort France in the World Club Championships earlier this month. This was the teams second time at this event after winning last years Division 1 title on the New Junction canal, a venue they know very well.

The team ended up 13th out of the 28 teams representing all the major angling nations.

Mark Wainwright who fished the event commented: -

"This event was a huge learning curve for us. The river came up during the week and was very pacey meaning we needed flat floats up to 20g. This is new to us and we learned a lot about the feeding as well as how to get your head round three hour matches which are so different. You can blow your swim in the initial feed if you are not careful without even wetting a line!

The lads really enjoyed themselves and we would love to get out there again one day. It's a great honour to be representing England at World Club level".
